We now have multiple rewarding opportunities available for skilled English and or Humanities Teachers to join one of our Junior Campuses to teach students in their formative secondary years (Yr 7 – 10).

Your Next Opportunity:

We are actively seeking dedicated educators with a strong passion for cultivating students' appreciation for the English language and a love of reading and/or an understanding of the social sciences. As a valued member of our faculty, you will play a pivotal role in fostering critical thinking, nurturing creativity, and social awareness, and honing effective communication skills, equipping our Year 7-10 students with the tools they need to succeed in today’s world. 

Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Direct teaching of groups of students as well as individual students
  • Contributing to the development, implementation, and evaluation of the English and of Humanities curriculum through Professional Learning Teams
  • Undertaking other classroom teaching-related and organisational duties as determined by the School Principal
  • Participating in activities such as parent/teacher meetings; staff meetings; camps and excursions;
  • Undertaking other non-teaching supervisory duties as required

What You’ll Bring to Copperfield College:

To be considered for this position, you’ll need to be either currently registered or eligible for registration with the Victorian Institute of Teaching. Prior demonstrated experience in delivering the Victorian Curriculum will be highly regarded, however, we are also open to considering interstate applicants and/or those who are in their third or final year of study.

Key selection criteria for this position will be used to frame discussion points and include:

  • Demonstrated knowledge of the relevant curriculum, including the ability to incorporate the teaching of literacy and numeracy skills. Demonstrated experience in responding to student learning needs.
  • Demonstrated experience in planning for and implementing high impact teaching strategies, guided by how students learn, and evaluating the impact of learning and teaching programs on student learning growth.
  • Demonstrated experience in monitoring and assessing student learning. Demonstrated experience in using data to inform teaching practice and providing feedback on student learning growth and achievement to students and parents.
  • Demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills. Demonstrated experience in establishing and maintaining collaborative relationships with students, parents, colleagues and the broader school community to support student learning, agency, wellbeing and engagement.
  • Demonstrated behaviours and attitudes consistent with Department values.
  • Demonstrated experience in reflecting upon practice and engaging in professional learning to continually improve the quality of teaching.
